Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6/11/2026

North ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the North mobile application.

Information We Collect

When you use North, we may collect:

  • Account information such as email address, name, age, and account role (teen, parent, or solo)
  • App usage information (for improving functionality and user experience)
  • Financial inputs entered by the user (such as paycheck amounts, category allocations, and saving goals)
  • Parent-teen linking relationships when families use North together
  • Subscription and purchase information processed through our payment provider
  • Bank account information, if you choose to connect a bank account (see "Bank Account Connections" below)

North never asks for or stores your bank login credentials. Bank connections are handled securely by Plaid (see below).

Bank Account Connections (Plaid)

North offers an optional feature that lets you connect a bank account to automatically import income and transactions. This connection is powered by Plaid Inc., a third-party service that securely links financial institutions.

If you choose to connect a bank account, you authenticate directly with your bank through Plaid. North does not see or store your bank username or password. Plaid provides North with a secure access token and the account and transaction data needed to power these features, which may include:

  • Account details such as institution name, account type, and the last few digits of the account number (account mask)
  • Account balances
  • Transaction history (merchant, amount, date, and category)

This information is encrypted in transit and at rest and is accessible only to North's secure backend — never exposed to other users. Plaid's handling of your data is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.

You can disconnect a linked bank at any time from within the app. When you disconnect, the connection is revoked at Plaid and the associated data is removed from North within a short reconnection window. Deleting your account removes all connected bank data.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide core app functionality
  • Improve the app experience
  • Enable parent-teen linking and family features
  • Manage subscriptions and account access
  • Communicate important updates related to the app

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

  • Supabase — authentication and data storage
  • RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management
  • Plaid — secure bank account connections (only if you link a bank)

These services only receive the data necessary to perform their function.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect user information. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. Sensitive financial data, including bank connection tokens, is restricted to North's secure backend and is never accessible to other users or exposed to the mobile app. However, no method of electronic storage is completely secure.

Children's Privacy

North is designed for users ages 7 and older. For users under 18, North offers a dedicated teen account type with optional parental oversight through linked parent accounts. Parental involvement may be required depending on applicable laws.

Delete Account

You can delete your North account in two ways:

Option 1: Delete in-app (Fastest)

  1. Open the North app
  2. Navigate to Settings
  3. Tap "Profile"
  4. Scroll to the Danger Zone and select Delete Account
  5. Type "DELETE" to confirm your decision
  6. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted

Option 2: Email deletion request

If you cannot access the app, email us at customer.support@gillerllc.com with:

  • Your registered email address
  • Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
  • We'll process your request within 7 business days

Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your paycheck history, goals, and bucket data will be permanently erased. If you are a parent, deleting your account will unlink all connected teens.
